Three months ago, I received a little red notification on my Facebook messenger. Sarah sent me a message saying she was getting married and asked me (yes, ME!) to be the photographer. I’m always honored to witness the beautiful ceremony of two lives joining together; but, this one was special. Not because of the stunning gorgeousness of the couple or Sarah’s adorable boys or the stellar location, the intimate ceremony, but because this is a story of the Lord’s redemption. A Godly man for Sarah and her boys and a wife and family for Darren.
If you searched for the two kindest people on earth, you’d find Sarah and Darren. These two are so SWEET, relaxed and in-LOVE with each other and the lives around them.
I’m in awe how God continues to write our stories. It never seems to be how we imagined and sometimes we wish it was different than what it actually is, but God is always faithful. There is always a richness, depth and joy in it all. “To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair…” Isaiah 61:3
Getting ready “activities” for the flower girls…
Moms make life so much better.
Momma, husband, 2 boys and 3 neices.
Aren’t they the darndest cutest family you ever did see?
We decided to have a leaf fight. You can guess who won.
As you can tell, I was highly disadvantaged with four against one. They won (ehem, or you could say I let them win from the kindness of my heart).
In my book, I count loss as gain. And it was worth it.
When you have to set your camera down from laughing so hard, that’s when you know you have one interactive wedding party. They were possibly the craziest, funnest people I’ve had the privilege to photograph. There were a few incidents, especially one, that had us laughing so hard we could barely stand up…for 3 straight minutes. You can ask the bridal party about it when you see them.
Again, the sweetest flower girls ever.
Before the ceremony, the family members had an intimate time of communion and prayer. Family members shared their hearts and as Sarah expressed hers, I lost it in the background. Felt so honored to be able to witness such raw emotion and love for each other.
Another moment where you had to fight the tears. Darren promising to love, protect and care for the boys and their momma. Sigh…
