Many people ask why I don’t create landscape photography. It’s not that I don’t like photographing nature, it’s because I just find people so darn fascinating to capture. I still can’t comprehend how so many emotions and expressions can come from one face. And maybe it’s the drama of people’s unpredicability or the spontaneity that has me hooked.

Who knows, but Bend had no problem enticing me into it’s beauty. Since I was commissioned from a local business to photograph some landscapes, it really forced me to look at nature in the same way I do people. Just like people, nature also has many faces and emotions. As an artist, I really had to focus on what type of “face” I wanted to capture combining light, composition, and environment.

I was so thankful to be able to sneak away an hour from the Justice Conference to capture some of the beautiful creations in Bend, Oregon.
