Lori Westling :: Art 2 Heart {Soul Care}

Last weekend I had the honor of attending a Soul Care retreat in Vail, Colorado. Megan, a gifted writer and dear friend, documented their stories while I captured their pictures. Megan will be sharing about each of these women and their incredible missions.

Megan would love to hear your story. Send her some love.

You know those beautiful souls who dream well and say poetic things that make your heart fill up with peace?

Yes or no, today is your lucky day because you get to meet our new friend Lori.

Lori founded a nonprofit that is using art in an powerful way. Let us tell you why.

Art 2 Heart is a nonprofit that exists to ignite creativity and multiply its impact through products and partnerships to inspire hope and dignity and share the love of Jesus Christ in our world.

“Inspire hope and dignity” – That’s exactly what we felt when she told us about how Art 2 Heart is partnering with both stay-at-home moms in Minnesota who want to create for a purpose and Peruvian women who want a better life for themselves and their families through making quality artisan products.

The organization base is a store where they sell artists products and use the money to support ministries or co-ops. They just opened a studio next to their store, and Lori is excited for the space to be used for studio time, Bible studies and more.

Her love for creativity was fire burning bright, and when asked what the best part of 2013 was she simply replied,

“God restored my passion.”

Thank you for taking the time to kindle your flame Lori, we know it will ignite many other hearts in creativity and dignity all over the world.

Lori’s favorite quote from the weekend:

“Our soul is like a stream of water, which gives strength, direction and harmony to every other area of our life. When that stream is as it should be, we are constantly refreshed and exuberant in all we do.”

Dallas Willard – Renovation of the Soul

“He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.” Ps. 23:2

Thank you for sharing your heart with us, Lori!
