I had an amazing opportunity to travel with 120 high school students and leaders from North Dakota and Minnesota as an outreach to the people of inner city Chicago. Pastor Cal from Fargo First Assembly has taken youth to Chicago City Life Center for 19 years! The hearts of the youth were changed as they sacrificed 8 days to minister to the children and people of Chicago.  We wasted no time while we were there; each day was filled with work projects in the morning, VBS in the afternoon, and night rallies in the evening.

No matter how much I love praying for people, it was such a life giving experience for me to be behind my lense capturing what I normally would be doing. It has opened my eyes to really search and look for the tiny miracles that God is doing that many people may miss or just overlook.

Even though I may have only prayed for a handful of people, I was so blessed to minister in a way that captured the life changing moments of the youth and people of Chicago.

I was moved the way God was breaking the hearts of the youth as the presence of God filled the place in worship.

There is nothing like the joy that comes over you for children you’ve just met…only the love of Christ can do that…

The love you receive for these kids as God is breaking your heart for the things of God’s heart.

Gotta love the architecture.:)

I have never seen more creativity, passion or skill performed in dramas than these youth displayed…so powerful! Good luck at the Fine Arts competition!

“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me…” Mark 9:37

The kids loved the sponge fight!

I could not stop taking pictures of this little boy. I felt so bad how drenched he got since he was one of the few (not to mention one of the smallest) innocent bystanders that didn’t want to be apart of the water fight.

This is one of my favorite pictures from this trip! You can see each one of their personalities as they are playing on the monkey bars.

The projects…

My heart aches for this little boy…

During one of the night rallies, this heart shaped cloud formed and passed right over us. I love the way God works!
