Children have become some of my favorite subjects to photograph. Many photographers and parents cringe at the thought of trying to make a child smile at the camera. I don’t blame them. I did too until I learned the secret.
I’ll let you in on two magic words that relieved me…”stop it!”
The last thing you want is forced poses, “cheesy” smiles, and reprimands. You want your images to reflect the everyday moments that show the child’s spirit and personality.
And that’s exactly why Megan, Chris and little Scarlet were such a delight to photograph! I couldn’t stop taking pictures of the whimsical, inquisitive Ms Scarlet. Pretty sure this child doesn’t know how to take a “bad” photograph. She is as sweet and precious as her parents.
By the end of the afternoon, she stole my heart with, “Tan-ta, I wuv you.”
